Cascade cuts has their annual plant sale this Saturday 9am and they sell stevia plants.  I get one every year b/c they are annuals here, unless brought indoors!  harvest what you grow and it can last all winter for you!  :)

Hi All, I have a whole mess of native plants, all barerooted seedlings (anywhere from 1 - 4ft tall), all needing to find homes soon! These are all leftover from the Fairhaven Middle School Garden plant sale so I'm not asking a specific price for any of the plants, but rather any size donation (or possible plant swap!) and that money (or plant!) will go towards supporting school garden education. The plants are not at the school, they are at my home so please let me know if you're interested.

Hey all, just wanted to remind you that there will be a plant sale this SUNDAY May 1st from 12:30 - 3pm at Fairhaven Middle School.  ALL proceeds from the event go to support school garden education at FMS.

We will have a variety of plants (mainly perennials) including edibles, ornamentals and lots of natives!  This is a great way to get some bargain plants before Mother's Day while also supporting a great cause! 

 

The sale will take place in the lower soccer field and the address of the school is 110 Park Ridge Rd, Bellingham.

Earth Garden Update mid-April - If you've transplanted some greens into your garden, take time to water them in with some fish & seaweed concentrate. The soil is still cold, and the plants can use the immediate nourishment. Consider using polyester Remay covers which hold in a bit of heat, and consider building more cold frames & hoop-houses. Protect tender plants from late frosts.

An update on the aminopyralid herbicide...or is it really an update?

I copied this from Shannon Maris's garden e news:

Mother Earth News - April/May issue pg. 20

Killer Compost... The aminopyralid issue is nationwide

The EPA says their review will be complete in 2014 - until then the herbicide can still be used as is.
