Comment by Mark Thompson on July 3, 2012 at 11:43am Beef! We have grass feed beef NO hormones, NO antibiotics, all natural, technically organic, but I can't officially call it that. It is not fattened with corn or grain. The animal is not stressed, but killed on sight. Our steer is ready for market. We have a half to sell. You pay us $1.70 lb. for the hanging weight. Then you work out the details of the cuts with Andal's Meat. They charge $.58 lb hanging weight for standard cuts. There is a $65 kill fee that would be split between the two halves. You will probably end up with about 200lbs of meat (guesstimate). We are in Mt Vernon.

~ County or City ~
Mother-in-Law cottage, cabin, room(s) for rent - 600 sq ft +
I would like to live in the county but happy to be in a city/town in Whatcom county.
I am a gardener. I have berries, dahlias, perennials, garlic, onions, herbs.......to contribute. How can we make things more beautiful and fruitful?
I have great references and would like to live on land where I can possibly do some of the rent in trade for work.
I would like to pay $250-$475 rent, I am extremely reliable and trustworthy.
I have a small family of animals - one small dog - 21# - goes with me to work - VERY well behaved dog! not a barker, no yapping!!!
2 mild mannered/shy cats - 11 and 5 years. a flock of chickens with a very tame and mellow rooster named Mr Yang! I have my own coop that can also travel with us.
I enjoy caring for all animals. I enjoy people and I am looking for a good fit. I have shop tools, a rototiller and many other gardening and building skills and supplies.
Perhaps you know of a family in need of a helper, a Elder couple that would appreciate some support and has a mother-in-law cottage.
I need to move by the end of May.
~ Thank you, Jamie

Comment by Mark Thompson on April 13, 2012 at 12:12pm Organic farm and retreat center looking for like minded person or people to trade for rent. They need help in their garden. Cedar Springs near Sedrow Wolley. No buss route and somewhat isolated. Call Nan 360-661-0247.
Krista, Yes the one in Kingston. Yes it is limited to 6 participants.
Brian and I are going to see if we can get Alexander to do a workshop at Inspiration Farm, either before or after the one in Kingston. We'll post it here as soon as we know.
Apparently it is not an easy thing for Alexander to get all his scything gear across the boarder into the U.S. so it would be wonderful if we could add a workshop in our area in addition to the one in Kingston.
I have registered for the one in Kingston and will probably do both if he also ends up doing one here.
Comment by Krista Rome on April 9, 2012 at 8:24am MacLeods: which scything workshop? The one in kingston? I am very interested but it looks like he teaches pretty small groups. I bet we could rally 6 people up here to have him teach a workshop in Bellingham.
Scythe workshop: There is a workshop on scything with a master at a really incredible price...... in case any of you who are into scything what to increase your skills. Good for newbies too. Go to the website and check it out. I plan to go to get fine tuning on my rudimentary peening and swinging skills.....
Comment by Krista Rome on April 1, 2012 at 8:24pm Anyone have a patch of comfrey I can steal some plants from? We want to plant a bunch of patches around fruit trees and for our ducks. Seems like a silly thing to pay money for since so many people have more comfrey than they want. 224-4757
