Hi there,
Welcome to Alicia and Andrew. Cindy mentioned you to me on Saturday when I saw her at Boundary Bay, Alicia. I travelled around with Andrew as we joined in on the Perennial Project activities. Andrew is also an bicycle enthusiast, and we were chatting about bicycle driven generators on Saturday. Maybe we could build one or two of our own for a Transition event.
We're having a potluck on Sunday November 8th at 4 pm for any Birchwood gardener types. Please bring and field any ideas for collaboration you have. My own inspiration at present is the thought of a Birchwood Gardener's market next summer. Talking with Cary a couple of weeks ago, we came up with this idea, and I'd love to make it fly.
Hope to see you soon. I'll be out in the neighborhood with some invitations to the potluck today and this week. Let me know of anyone you think might want to come.

We have an urban homestead on our half-acre plot in Birchwood Neighborhood on Cherrywood Avenue. We have gardens, chickens, a young orchard, native food plants, rainwater collection system, big front yard cold frame and a lot of wonderful plans for more self-sufficiency and more gardens to produce as much food as we can here. My husband would love to be a full time farmer so we're working hard to pay off the house so we can start earning money in inspired, creative, and more harmonious ways. We're hoping to get there soon. I look forward to meeing other Birchwood Victory Gardeners.

Birchwood garden soil is awsome! I help garden at two gardens there. My close garden friends aren't on the ning site (yet), and busy in their gardens! My friend Jasmin & I are looking for another backyard to grow more crops in...and to join with other gardeners looking for a large community garden space...
There is also some interest in finding county land close by to cooperatively grow fruit & nut forest gardens.....There is a community garden north of us in Cordata neighborhood, but the beds are too small to grow the spacey long-growing crops like potatoes/winter squash/ beans/corn.
Of course, we are also needing & welcoming to folks who want to help in our home-garden & learn hands on & knees on the ground....
Thanks for initiating this neighborhood group..
.I'll pass the word to those I know walk the hood daily.

I think I am in the Birchwood Neighborhood at work! Can I be part of your group!?!

Did you know that you can go to the Members tab and do a search for 'Birchwood' and find everyone that entered Birchwood as their neighborhood? Then you can send them each an invite to a meeting or to join your group!
