Hi there,
We're meeting at 8:15 on Saturday April 10th to ride bicycles to the Great Unleashing! Decorate your bike, and be ready to join the human powered parade to Bellingham High School. We'll meet at the westside Birchwood Elementary parking lot and ride downtown to the La Fiamma parking lot together. We'll pick a route according to the ability of the riders. It's a bit of a trip, 4 to 5 miles altogether, and I totally encourage you to call me (738-2148) if you need support, a trailer, or other resources. If you are way inspired, and want to be organized, decorated and carry a sign, all the better!

Hi there,
At the last meeting for the TWIGS and volunteers planning the Great Unleashing, it came up that we might want to get a group together to participate in the parade going from the Farmer's Market to Bellingham High on the morning of April 9th. We'd meet at the Farmer's Market at 8:30 (might be 8:15). Chris suggested we make a banner for our neighborhood "TRANSITION BIRCHWOOD". I'm planning on going with my bike, or perhaps a borrowed banner from the Parade of the Species. Are there others interested in joining this joyous fal-de-ral?

Hey again, still on a networking note:
Thanks, Renata for considering helping. I'm still looking for scanning help at my home office during the next 2-4 weeks. Also looking for a strong garden-savvy helper with a good work ethic for a few months. I can probably offer about 4 hours a week - weekends best but schedule is flexible. I know someone else who is looking as well so it could be two garden help jobs. People can respond to me at exwanderer@earthlink.net. Thanks for passing it along!

Hi Alicia,

Cindi mentioned to me this morning that you arelooking for scanning help. Do you have a scanner? I have one but depending on the number of photos you need to be scanned you might have to purchase an ink cartridge. Mine is running out ;-) When do you need the photos to be scanned by?

On a networking note: I need to find someone to help me with photo scanning for my mother's memorial service. Anyone know someone who is fairly organized and computer literate looking for a temporary $10/hr gig?

Yard Space for Gardener Offered in Birchwood neighborhood:
I received an email from a fourthcornerxchange member, copied below.

“Spring is coming once again.... I have yard space that would like to become garden, but I don't have the time or energy, so it's available to someone to use.
Francine K.
2520 Cedarwood Ave (off Northwest Ave, near Albertson's) “
I have her phone number that I can pass on to whomever is interested - email me...

Please let me know when this garden space is filled so I can X out this post's offer.

Hi Gary & All! I'd be interested in splitting a partial seed order with the 'SeedSavers Yearbook'...I was a member decades ago!
I'm especially interested in perennial greens, and some small sized long-storing winter squashes....and also medicinals that can planted in the understory of an edible 'forest-garden-guild'. Best to email or phone me with possible choices you want folks to share with you.
I'm missing the chance to sit & bitch & share tea & re-learn to stich!

Replying to Kara and anyone else with mending in mind,
Yes, we're Stitchin and Bitchin tonight. So come by with your knitting, mending, spinning, anything you feel you can transport over.

Hi Birchwooders,

We don't live in the Birchwood Neighborhood but we want to. Currently we live at Inspiration Farm just north of Bellingham as renters. We want to buy a home in the Birchwood Neighborhood. We really like the large lots and we want to have a huge garden and chickens. And of course participate in building community. If you know of any places for sale or soon to be please let us know. (Angela MacLeod or David MacLeod). We have been looking at the realestate listings so keeping up that way.
