As gardeners its important we both save some basic seeds like peas, beans, grain, tomatoes, greens, and that we also purchase seeds from local seed-savers like Uprising Organics Farm, to increase the genetic diversity & regional natural selection! http://www.uprisingorganics.com/

Spring Garden Kick-Off Event at Public Market with Seed Sharing this Sat ! If you missed the main winter seed-savers swap on Jan 30th, be sure to come by and bring any seeds to share to add to the table: 11-2pm Sat Feb 26 -http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/seed-swap-and-gardening-kick

Garden Share & Farmland Exchange: Bellingham & Whatcom;

Blog posted with online links at - http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/profiles/blogs/garden-share-amp-farmland

 If you have land to share or are a gardener-farmer looking for land, try using the online urbangardenshare network posted within the above blog. Please share your successes or challenges on the blog so we'll know how useful it might be.

(And you might also consider posting your offerings & needs on the TW group 'community asks & offers')- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/communityasksandoffers

If you're attending the seed-swap, we hope to have wall space for folks to post a written card for their garden/farmland needs or offerings, to assist with offline networking.

Brian, if you wanted to come to Lummi Island for a workshop I've got the room and the equipment. It would have to be after mid Feb. Randy Smith

I have built two top bar hives and would be willing to help out building some more but I don't really have enough space to host a group of wood workers. Anyone have the space and tools to host a group? We would need a table saw, chop saw and some hand tools and lots of table space.
