- In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
- I have been interested in environmental issues most of my life. My Dad did his thesis on water resources when I was 9 years old and there was a lot of family discussion about such subjects. Since then I've done what I could to be a good steward of the earth.
The other aspect of Transition that appeals to me very much is the non-partisan, inclusive, stance and the exhortation to connect with your neighbors to build resilience in your own neighborhood.

- It was mentioned in the Folk School catalog and also a friend invited me to join in late 2012.

An architectural designer has proposed a series of compost islands for New York City. Not only does it look nice but, of course, solves a huge problem for New York. Good for them!
