Thanks for your friend request and suggestion for sharing seed swap info. If you email me details (hannahc@re-sources.org), I would happily make an announcement at the Seed Saving workshop next week. Specifics and contact info for regular and annual seed swaps would be most helpful.
Hi there Heather- thank you for touching base. I would love to meet up for a walk, tea, etc. Right now I'm very much in crazy busy mode, as thhe rain seems to be subsiding and I've got thousands of root-bound starts needing to be put in a.s.a.p. I'm biking out to the farm tomorrow at 5:00am to get in as much as I can before the sky pours down on us again. Most work days leave me fairly useless socially. But I hope to have a bit of a rest and time on Saturday (unless there is a weather opening and I'm on the farm) If you're open then, I'd love to make a tentative date.
I hope you are enjoying the lovely colors on the maple trees these days.
Thanks Angela M for your kind words on my blog on Shared Leadership-

Hey thanks for the heads up on the mushroom workshop. But I think you've misread the dates. The next workshop is Mar. 26th. Also thanks for telling me about the gardening group. I'm very interested in permaculture and love to learn and share what I have learned.
Heather, I and my wife Barb Schickler have been members since I gave a talk on peak oil and energy issues for 10/10/10. I have expanded and improved my slides for this 90 minute presentation, and wonder if the Laurel Group would like to hear it.
I am not sure how to contact the fifteen members or so, and wonder if you could tell me how to send out sort of a group mailing. My email is sandy.george.lawrence@gmail.com.
Thanks

Thank you Heather for all the great info and for posting to the other discussion! I've sent Shannon a friend request as its the only way I can send her an email ;)
Thanks Heather. As I get some time here in the next bit, I'll contact some of the folks that have started area groups to get some advice. Thanks, I'll be in touch. Dave
Hello Heather, thank you for the information. I will try to make one of the Rome Grange breakfasts. Looking forward to meeting you and other neighbors. Happy New Year!
Hi Heather, thanks for the offering for the help for the class.... I guess I did miss that option. Still learning how to work this website!! The class went pretty well, I think about 8 or 9 folks showed up and it was a lot of fun. My friend Chris Wolf was there, whom i hadn't seen in awhile. Good to reconnect with her. I'm hoping to meet you sometime soon!! Perhaps we can just set a date and time and make it happen??
I hope this finds you feeling all blessed up. Take care.

Can olives be grown here? I was thinking it would be grand to grow olives, make oil, soaps, etc., as olive oil has so many health benefits; good for the body inside and out, yet very expensive. Anything preventing olive farming here? I confess - I know zero about growing olives, but my husband suggested it might be possible here. I said, well if it were, honey, don't you think someone would have been doing it by now? :-)

Hi Heather, thanks so much for the warm welcome and the links!
I did look at Irene's basketry class and it looks like so much fun but the time didn't work out well for me. I hope she'll have more in the future.
