I like your tree-fungi pic...looks like possibly a Ganoderma oregonense.
There is a mushroom event this Sat, info under the TW Events page.

One of the most successful transition neighborhoods, is Goshen. They are very connected and hardly do any online communications here. You might consider asking some of their members, or the Transition Ferndale members, what their experience & thoughts are initiating a transition Lynden. Ferndale offers monthly movie nights at the credit union! Keep us posted on your Lynden neighbors progress. Have fun connecting!
