Hey everyone. I want to see what everyone thinks about the viability of this product. Does anyone have any experience with one. My main HOPE for it would be using it as a stop gap between an oil crisis and whatever alternate energy arises. Here are a couple of good websites to read up on them.

Hi Scott,
I have not made the CEB yet but would like to do it this winter. Are you still interested in it? I have printed out many diagrams and have most of the material necessary laying around in addition to all the tools necessary to build it. Plasma cutter, welder metal band saw etc. Tom Anderson was also interested in this project. Things will be busy for me through to the first of the year but maybe we can all find a time after that to do it. What do you think?
Thanks for your patience
Brian
Hi Scott,
I would like to plan and build a CEB press some time in the next month or two is there a time that works better for you. I figure that it might take a day to look over the plans and see what I have on hand that we can us, then gather the remaining materials. The actual fabrication should only take a day or two once we get going on it. Let me know what you think.
thanks for your interest.

Hi Scott! I received your comment re mushroom workshops.
I was not the person who created the event page for the mushroom workshop in Jan.
I have posted a listed of local clubs & grange hall links, that includes the local mushroom club website. - http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/organic/forum/topics/club-meetings-grange-halls
Many of us locals are involved in growing, harvesting, & learning about mushrooms. Chris Wolf would be a good contact person on TW in regards to a mushroom workshops, as would JC, and there are more! Hope this helps!
There are other Sudden Valley residents within our TW network that you can do a search for under the 'Members' tab.
Welcome to the Earth Gardens group! Here is a link to the new members info page- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/organic/forum/topics/member-info-events-links
I think you may have already signed up for the Garden E-News, where most of us locals channel events & info to, and Shannon volunteers to compile them into informative emails.
Will do! I'll email the last one I sent out to confirm.
thanks for your interest~
Shannon
Welcome Scott! I think we both know JC and are part of the mycelium network!
I hope to make it up to JC's in the future, maybe we can carpool.
Here is another event on this Sat that might interest you:

There is also an Earth Garden's group that shares our wisdom on many issues at:

Sudden Valley is very forested and part of the Lake Whatcom watershed- there are other SV neighbors on this network that can be found under a Members search.
I look forward to meeting at a work party or event, and learning more about your sustainability interests & work.
