Jean Kroll said… Hi Peggy,
Looks like we are gearing up for another film series this winter! A number of food-oriented nonprofit groups will be meeting in early October to talk about getting it all set up. Perhaps I can come by some time and take a look at your collection of relevant and enlightening films!
BTW, the last film series "Wonder of Oneness" was quite successful, even though we had only two film showings. We had great guest speakers, and the Co-op provided some tasty snacks. Look forward to doing it again this year!

Jean Kroll said… Hi Peggy,
You're awesome! Thanks for the offer to borrow more enlightening and relevant-to-Transition movies! Next year, we hope to have a longer series and a more developed event.
So it has been finalized: "Power of Community" on January 27, and "Dirt: the movie!" on February 17. Walter Haugen has generously offered to be my "Dirt" guy. Haven't found a "Power of Community" person yet. Anyhoo - I'm sure we'll meet at one of these TW events!
Jean Kroll said… Hi Peggy,
Well, got the word from RE-Sources that their calendar is already pretty full and they can only have us do two films, one in January and one in February. So I wanted to ask you about your film nights: do you have refreshments? Do you have discussions afterward? What works, what doesn't - this is my first time doing this! :-D I was thinking about having "experts" on-hand for discussions afterwards. I have one soil expert already lined for the movie "Dirt." The other movies we have are "Tableland" (haven't seen yet) and "Power of Community." Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for your help!
Jean Kroll said… Hi Peggy,
I am with the Center for Local Self-Reliance (www.caretakershouse.org) and am coordinating a film series for the next 4 months. I wanted to touch base with you about how your film series has been going, and also to see if you had a film or two to borrow! So far, looks like we're having the film series on Thursday nights, once a month, held at RE-Sources learning center. We have "Power of Community" and "Dirt: the Movie" and were thinking of showing "Tableland" (if we can find our copy) and "Blue Gold" if we can find a copy.
