I am personally interested in meeting and talking with anyone here in Whatcom County who is making ethanol for fuel.
Or, are there others who are interested in or thinking about doing it? I know that it is a very promising alternative energy, that doesn't need to compete with our food supply.
Please contact me and let me know.
Thanks,
Tom

HI Tom
I think we are meeting tomorrow and then the next time we'll meet on Tuesday. In a bit of a busy-storm in my life right now, but I do intend to make it tomorrow.

I'm not aware if anyone has initiated a Transition Initiative group for the Lynden & surrounding farmland/watersheds.
This link shows TW members near Lynden- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/profiles/members/?q=lynden
Hi Tom- Thanks for your friend request...it does make online communications easier to also send messages.
Re Web Team, we are in the midst of some updates & changes so I'm not sure when the best time to connect would be. My schedule is pretty full for the summer plant & harvest season.
I'd like to encourage you to meet David MacLeod sometime, who is founder of this TW ning site & the TW web team.
You might consider attending his 6 week series class on “Principles & Practices Beyond Sustainability” that starts on Monday- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/principles-and-pathways-beyond The first class will be held at the Cordatta Coop, and then moved to a new location.
Hi Tom, I don't think we've met. I'm pretty active in home & community gardens, permaculture projects, and help out with our Transition web team.
I noticed you hadn't found the Transition neighborhood group near you. Its called Transition Ferndale- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/transitionferndale
Its a great group of neighbors that meet pretty monthly and have a movie night. You'd be welcome to connect. You'd need to sign on to the TW site and then click the 'Join" to connect in.
Sometime when we meet, I'd enjoy hearing what your impressions are of TW ning.com social networking site....and if you have any ideas for having it be more useful for locals, and also accessible for newcomers.
Hi Tom!
We are forming at TW communications team and I was wondering if you might be interested. We'll be helping promote TW events, doing press releases, social networking, and making sure our marketing stuff is consistent and upbeat! If you would like to help in a small or large way- join us at the Public Market on May 25 at 6:30 pm.
Thanks
Kate

We have a small friendly group, Transition Ferndale. We have a movie/potluck event posted on the Events page for March 22. Last time we were shocked when 40 people showed up. Who knows what the 22nd will bring? We are having a great time meeting people who are preparing in many ways. Hope to meet you some day. Judith Culver and David Culver
We have our Great Unleashing coming up - which you can learn more about on this ning as well as on our regular site, www.transitionwhatcom.org. The second day we will be forming workgroups in food security, transportation, and energy, as well as others. These groups will be made up of individuals and other organizations who have already been working to build resilience- and I think you would be an excellent addition to the Energy workgroup. I encourage you to at least find out more about and consider adding your expertise.
Hope to see you there.
Kate
