I am bike commuter, home gardner, composter user (our own food scraps as well as a few neighbors). Working presently for a Chiropractor that is ALL about holistic, self-care/wellness. interested in herbs and wild foods of the area.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
it's unmistakable the state of things to come. Controlled and over worked fields, peak oil... I think it's important that we as a community can become more self sufficent. I also think it's importanat to share what we grow and hope that it encourages other to grow their own or at the very least that others will want to persue organic, locally grow foods.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I have no special skills/talents regarding this to share however I am an artist and hope to begin to bring awareness through my art.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?

Hi Kelcey! I noticed you joined the Food Security EVENTS group that I started over a year ago. Since Kate C has started another Food Security group, many of us are networking there.
There are some local organizations now meeting to plan a Food Network event, possibly in May. I personally hope to connect with a local farmer who grows enough potatoes to last us through the winter.
Hi Kelcey
All i needed was your email, and you included that - so you are good to go.
I'll be sending out a Garden E-News soon.... there is soooo much going on!!
thanks for your interest and if you see or find cool stuff other gardeners would like email them to me and I'm happy to include them for the good of our great gardening community!
Hi Kelcey! Welcome to the online TW site and to the "Organic Gardeners...Permi' group! I enjoyed seeing your art on your webpage...One of my favorites would be the 'Starboard Tack'... reminds me of being on the water in warmer southern latitudes.
I'll look forward to meeting you sometime...maybe at a garden work party! I'm one of the co-designers & volunteers with the CLSR - Center for Local Self-Reliance...Let me know if you want to be on their email list...or just check Shannon's Garden E-News.
