- How are you currently involved in the Transition?
- I am relatively new the Transition movement as an entity, but feel I have been practicing transition- like ways for years. Mainly in the form of practicing natural medicine, learning and integrating traditional indigenous technology and spirituality, and really focusing on the study of plant medicine. I am very conscious of my waste production, and have limited my garbage to one paper bag a month, my main waste being compost. I feel that I contribute to transitioning to a healthier, more sustainable culture by offering deep healing that brings our true essential nature into form, which is in harmony with nature, conscious, and loving. I also teach many classes on plant medicine, natural healing, spirituality, and harmony with nature.
- In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
- I was first introduced to the Transition movement by a friend who was working with me on a permaculture farm in Tonasket. Just hearing about what it was all about made me really excited, because I've really been wanting to find some sort of community that revolves around all the issues Transition is about. I feel like there is SO much to learn, and I know that there is a great amount of collective wisdom within communities, but finding it is usually the hard part. I feel like I have so much to share with others, and so much to learn myself that this community would be a great place to share and receive.
I'm also interested in Transition because I can really, really feel the shifts going on on the planet at this time and honestly it really makes me nervous at times. I really wish to find communities of people that are really figuring out how to go with the flow of these changes in a good way. I'm trying to not rely on outside sources for what I use in my life- especially in terms of food....
- Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
- As stated above, I am an herbalist, alchemist, shamanic practitioner, and teacher. I own a small spagyric herbal tincture business called Organic Unity. I teach many classes on herbalism, wildcrafting, natural healing, medicine making, alchemy, astrology, shamanism, and other topics basically about living in harmony with nature, and being a conscious loving human being.

- I heard about Transition Whatcom from my friend Chris Wolf who told me about it.

One of my favorite books for this year has been Stephen Harrod Buhner's ' The Lost Language of Plants'. I'm guessing you've already read it.
Yesterday I was blessed to find a few turkey tails, that I hope to learn how to turn into medicine. Also harvested some wild chantrelles & oyster fungi. See you on the path!

The owner of Wonderland Tea in B'ham has given some medicinal herbal classes, and I'm sure there are many who would welcome any wisdom you have to share or offerings of medicinal plant walks. (sometimes I can host travelors or ask our garden-permi geek network). Plant Seeds! Sing Songs!
