So far just reading a lot. Attended event on Oct. 1.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I moved to Bellingham from California (currently on fire) because I wanted to establish a base for my three adult children in the coming "long emergency" years. I am reading Carolyn Baker's Sacred Demise and thinking about personal change. I want to connect with others who are thinking and feeling their way forward. I don't know how to do much for myself, so when those Skill Building classes are eventually offered, I'll probably be first in line.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I'm a published writer of short fiction and articles. I once ran a church retreat about telling personal stories. I taught English for several years, so I'm okay in front of people. I'm a good organizer but burn out fast from meetings. I hope to develop more endurance for consensus work.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
on Broadway: border between Broadway Park & Lettered Streets

Welcome Jo Ann to our local ning-site. Your skills in organizing can be useful for bringing your neighborhood together.
!There are already lots of skill-building classes happening in our community...and more to be happening.
If you are interested in gardening, there are gardeners out there working now...sometimes you have to walk down the allys to find them.
On this site you can find some groups being formed to choose from.
If you click under 'Groups' and then click 'View all", you will see them.
I helped created the Organic Gardeners group, but there are lots others.
There is a great gardeners email list also that one of my friend does.
Also explore the 'Events' page and enjoy the many educational discussions under the forum & blog pages!
