Volunteer and get a Ticket (the good kind)

Transition Whatcom members who want to attend a TW sponsored movie at the Limelight can earn a free ticket (if they want) by helping to promote, table or otherwise assist with a TW event. Just email warren at transitionwhatcom dot org if you are interested (or leave a post in this group instead).

Warren,  I may be able to assist with Reel Food Film Festival planning process.  Best to email me details/dates.

Film titled "Seed: The Untold Story" is in process of being made, with kickstarter funding.  Same producers who did "Queen of the Sun"  film on honeybees are working on this film.  Here is the link:  http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/collectiveeyefilms/seed-the-unt...

Volunteer Opportunities:
Tabling: Usually involves a 2 hour time committment.

No set schedule - as needed for community events

Transition Whatcom often has a table at Village Books author presentations, and other community events.  Helping out with tabling means talking with interesting people about Transition, answering questions, encouraging people to sign up for email information, sharing with people about what TW is up to, and finding out about the creative ideas and projects people are involved in.

Your help is needed! Now is the time for you to help maintain and grow Transition Whatcom. Just a little effort will go a long way! For example:

  • We need help with informing and energizing the Transition Whatcom membership. (Outreach and Partnering)
  • We need help with the Energy Descent Action Plan (Organizing and Creating).
  • We need help with the TW web sites (Improving and Managing).
  • We need help with Monthly Movie Nite (Planning and coordinating).
  • We need help with education (Update our Handouts and Signs).
  • We need help with donations (Creating funding Events and 'Thank You Gifts').
  • We need YOUR effort to make progress on any/all of the above items.

Anyone willing to help put up posters for the Nov 20th Transition Whatcom movie night showing of "The Power of Community- How Cuba survived peak oil". I'd also like to develop a list of 'target' places to put up flyers so if you know of any good places please let me know (just list them by adding a comment!)

Tree Planting.

Saturday March 31st we will be beginning our reforestation program at Camp Brotherhood.  We are looking for volunteers that will help us plant 400 trees in one day.  Our ultimate goal is to plant over 2000 trees.  We will begin at 9 a.m. and will provide lunch at 12:00.  Please RSVP by Tuesday the 27th so we can order food.  You can make a difference.
