Karl, thanks for hosting the next potluck! Will you post your address here so everyone knows where to come? (That's Fri, Dec 4th at 6:00 pm.)

This sounds great! We would be happy to hang out with children. A baby sitting co-op would be wonderful. (the kids can have their own potlatches) and please yes! Let us have the next gathering happen at our place.

Hello everybody,
We had another very enjoyable potluck tonight! In attendance were myself; Jason; Francis, Lia, and Rhiannon Ayley, and Judy Hopkinson. We had great discussions, and started our Transition Initiative application. We decided our next steps will be putting an announcement about Transition York Neighborhood in the York Neighborhood newsletter, and speaking about it at the next YNA meeting (in January).
We will continue having potlucks every other Friday night. The next one will be Dec 4th at 6:00 pm. Location to be posted soon-- Karl, do you want to host the next one?

Hi Chris,
I would also be happy to watch children here and take turns with other parents in watching the children so that we can take turns going to the potlucks or meetings. perhaps that might be an option too?
Karl, would that work for you guys too? Are there any other parents in the group that might be interested in setting up some sort of childcare rotation for the potlucks/meetings?
Cheers!
Carrie

Hi Carrie,
I would love to make it possible for you to come to the TY potlucks and also have your kids be well taken care of. Maybe we could all chip in and compensate Riannon or another young person to keep an eye on the younger kids while we meet? Maybe someone knows a high school or college student in the neighborhood who would be interested?

Hi Chris,
I am sorry for not being able to attend the potluck either. I would very much like to be more involved in the group, but find myself in a similar boat as Karl. With two children it is often not possible for both Dietmar and I to make it to events (and situation-dependent perhaps neither of us can make it as happened on the potluck evening). But I love your suggestion about hosting a potluck. We would also be more than happy to get on the potluck hosting list and have one at our place. Another possible idea if there are other parents in the same boat is perhaps we could start a babysitting co-op and take turns watching the kids when there are dinners and meetings. Just some thoughts!

We would love to have you involved Karl. Maybe the following Friday you and Robin could host the potluck so your kids can be around and play while we talk?

Hi Chris! Glad to hear the inaugural potluck was fun. I'm still interested in helping out with projects and Robin and I will see if we can't find a sitter for an hour or two to join you at the next one! Hope to see you at Franklin park this weekend.

Hello Yorkies,
We had a Transition York potluck last Friday night, with Francis, Lia, and Riannon Ayley, Jason Quick, and myself. We all got to know each other a bit and talked about our passions for sustainability and "Transition" work. It sounds like we would like to go ahead and apply to be an official Transition Initiative, and we are eager to get some great projects going in our neighborhood. We will be having a potluck every other Friday night, so please join us if you want to be involved!

Next Transition York potluck: Fri, Nov 20, 6:00 pm, at the Ayleys' house: 1717 Iron St.

Dana (and maybe others), sorry you will miss the potluck meeting this Friday, but we will post here what comes out of that meeting. There will be many more opportunities for people to be involved, at whatever level you want to be. Hope you have fun on your trip this weekend!
