Heather, thanks for letting me know about the other folks who attended Fungi Perfecti's seminar. I was able to attend Paul's last Mycorestoration Seminar in June. Quite the expirience with the BP issue lurking around. I encourage folk's to check out his website and his comments on oil and his TED talk. The cow manure might be a good candidate for remidiation. I'm humbled and amazed options exist for these sorts of situations
Heather,
thanks for the lead on cross posting the natural building group, I will try it out soon
If you know of any one looking to build cob straw bale guest cottages I would be happy to help design and consult and even build in the county.

Hi, Heather,
I am new to the area (in past year) and live in Cornwall park neighborhood. Seems there's a lot of great energy here! Haven't gardened in a long time and never in the NW, so I have a lot to learn.
Wendy
Thanks Heather! You're a wealth of information and support.
I actually have met Laura (I think that's her name) at the Ground Floor, but not Harmony. I have chatted with some of the other folks there as well. :)
Thanks, Heather for helping me to navigate this new space. I know for certain that I am not the only one holding pieces of a bigger vision of where we are going. I am inspired by how people here have done so much already to put this dream in action. I'm just excited to share my piece and see how we can keep expanding the picture of what is possible when we all come together to play.
I'm planning on going to the Community Living potluck next week.

Hi Heather
you dropped me a note on earthday about the dance I was doing. Yes, Presence Studio is my studio, but an incredible home for many peoples' work in the community. I'm just the center balancing point, keeping things organized for my work and theirs.
I'm going to check out the organic gardening page. I have a pretty big veggie garden and have added a new bed the last two years. Much to my dismay I left a whole bunch of seeds out in the rain over the weekend. So just planted them all. I will have a bumper crop of lettuce and carrots and chard all at one time. So will pass it along to friends and the foodbank farm.
Hi Heather,
Thank you for your interest and concern. I made a last minute decision to stay at home. The tour sounded so amazing. I am definitely sad that I didn't attend. I am also pleased with how I did spend my day yesterday, however. Much needed solitude after a very, very full weekend! I would love to garden with you. Getting to spend time in other people's gardens is a learning experience like none other.
Let me know if you have a time in mind.
Best,
Jane
Thanks, Heather, for the invite to the Organic Gardeners group. What a wealth of knowledge an experience you can see coming through there. I'm timidly starting to check out the gardening work groups. I'm going to D and Girard to the BUGS garden Sat morning. Sounds like fun! - Dana
Hi Heather, It is a nasty day out but I managed to get down to Pioneer Park and help replant 25 large trees. 3 were redwoods..I took a look way up in the sky to imagine how tall they would when I die..We staked them and tied them Come see me at the Frank-n-Stein..Next Sat. night we have live local music. I look forward to meeting you. I am not at the April Brews Beer fest. tonight at the Market.Later Lloyd
Heather ,
You may not be savy to what you just opened your self up to. The other side of Squalicum Mountain you say. One of my longterm dreams/projects is to create a continous walk/bike trail from the Britton rd near the Williams Natural gas pump station to Agate Bay. Start your list of willing property owners who would be interested in creating a nonpaved link.
Maybe we could start up a once-a-month foraging foray to a few local areas, it can be led by the person that knows and uses the particular area and we could all share what we know about the plants and fungi we come across.
Christine
Did I meet you at Janaki's 50th b-day? Are the pics. on your site of your garden?! So amazingly beautiful. From reading your profie it sounds like you have a whole lot of excellent knowlege about medicinal plants. I'd just love to go for a walk with you in the woods sometime and pick your brain about the plants. I have a strong hunger to continually increase my plant knowlege and learning from a book just isn't as fun.
