Unfortunately, I was not aware of it and would of given anything to of heard Frances Moore Lappe. I have been in Bellingham since Spring of 70 and have been devoted to caring for my little corner of the world in Fairhaven.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I would like to have a sense of community with people like me. I just watched Food Inc on Public TV and am reminded that every bit of organic food I eat helps to cherish and protect our beautiful planet and all the life it sustains. I ride the bus as much as I can.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I am good at a lot of things. I am a social worker so I now how to network, make connections and get things done. I helped get the Co-op going many years ago.
I am not sure what Transition Whatcom does but I have good people and communication skills.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I watched the video after I got an e-mail from my daugther but I got it too late.
Today is April 20th.

Hi Viviana! Welcome to the TW site! Thanks for all you did to help co-create our local food coop! Frances Moore Lappe has a great new book coming out...possibly a limited first edition still at VB...title is "Liberation Ecology"....She was an amazing speaker.... I think you'll be sent more info later from a TW inititating member on ways to connect in with the TW work. There is a new Transtion Fairhaven group being formed in collaboration with the current neighborhood groups...Look under the Events tab for the Tues April 27th meeting at 7pm at Fireplace Room-library, and check under the Groups tab for 'Transition Fairhaven" or go to http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/transitionsouthbellingham
My passions are edible forest gardens, earthcare resource preservation, & gratitude for life on earth & each moment.
