So nice to meet you the other night. About the Cedar Basket workshop... we are actually full with 10 participants, but if you like I can put you first on the waiting list. Thanks! --Chris Wolf
Hi Nicola! Thanks for your comment & appreciations! I hope you'll share with us what you learn about caring for the hazelnut orchard, and the possibilaties of it evolving into an 'edible forest garden'. You might appreciate the books "Edible Forest Garden' for a resource on interplanting & maintaining...Its my favorite permi-geek book.
During the warmer weather, some of us help out at rolving garden-work parties where the host puts us to work & feeds us a meal. Jeff W. often organizes that through emails & phone calls, and you might consider having folks out to your place in the future for a work-party.
I'm considering joinging the Everson Garden club. This Sat I'll be in Fairhaven to help out with the garden planning at the Center for Local Self Reliance.
Looking forward to meeting someday & working together in the garden or forests.
Hi Nicola! How great to hear you care for a hazelnut orchard! I'm also a student of permaculture & caring for the earth. I live in the rural western foothill area of the county, south of Everson & east of B'ham.
I thought you might be interested in connecting with other active garden-type folks through our email list...(Pass email on to me if so),
Hello Nicola,
My name is Chris (female) and I just moved off of Hannegan north of Bakerview. Do you still live in this area of the county? I would be really excited to meet some like-minded neighbors and be able to socialize and help each other out with projects sometimes. I have strong interests/experience with gardening, Permaculture, and Transition work and I have a deep belief in knowing my neighbors and my community. Feel free to message me back, or call me at home 734.3501 or cell 961.9028 if you want to come over for dinner some evening or otherwise get together!

Remember to pass your email onto Shannon & request the local Garden E-News she sends out. There is so much happening locally, and not all of it gets posted as an event on this site. Here's a link to her page to leave a comment with your email on: http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/profile/ShannonMaris?xg_source=profiles_memberList
