Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
My wife and I live off the grid and are working to produce more of our own food (and alcohol). We try to limit our car trips into town.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
For me, it is a matter of reconnecting with a skills-based, rather than money-based, existence. I would much rather learn or barter for what I need than work for once company just so I can pay another for my basic needs.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Brewing, distillation, sausagemaking, cheesemaking.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
On the Lummi Reservation
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
My wife and I are living off-the-grid and are interested in building a community of likeminded people.

Hi Jim,
I got your request to join the Sanitation/Humanure group - thanks for your interest. At our first meeting, the group decided that we will add to the ning group anyone who comes to at least one face to face meeting. That way we keep the online group to people who really are interested. Have you been to a meeting? I don't think I remember that, but please correct me if I am wrong (too many meetings, not enough memory!). If you like I can keep you posted about when our next in person meeting will be (it's not scheduled yet). Let me know... Thanks!
