I saw Collapse tonight and heard a little from Rick and Cindi about what they are doing with transitions. I'm finding myself attracted to what transitions is doing.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
What brought me here - good fortune!
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I love watching and being part of animals, plants, individuals, and groups of people be born, grow and, deteriorate. I enjoy tremendously being part of and contributing to that process.
I am a generalist - by profession: a construction project manager , by hobbie I know just enough about carpentry, plumbing, electricity, cooking, parenting, growing plants, building soil, butchering chickens, cajoling cougars and turning compost to know I really don't know much at all.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
We live on about 13 acres on the north side of Squalicum Moutain off Mount Baker Hwy
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?

I think I might be able to contribute to Transitions goals and learn some stuff as well.

Hi Dale! I noticed that you live at Noon and Mt Baker Hwy. We are neighbors! I live off VanWyck Rd between Hannegan and Noon. I am very interested to meet some of my neighbors in the VanWyck/Dewey Valley area (just moved here last Fall) and maybe create some kind of loose network where we can help each other out with things that need done (gardening, hauling, harvesting fruit, whatever). Let me know if you are interested and we could talk further. --Chris Wolf (phone 734.3501 or email: chrisandbella at yahoo dot com).
Thanks for the great potluck you hosted on Sunday, love your place on Squalicum mountain. Sorry we didn't meet your wife Kelly! My place in Ferndale is still in transition to what I want it to be as an urban farm. We will be building the chicken coop in the next few weekends, and have most of the gardens in. I also have 5 varieties of apples, blueberries, rasberries, 2 hazelnuts, and am planting a Rainier cherry and Shipova pear this weekend, along with lots more herbs. Plan to have a medicine wheel herb garden instead of part of my front lawn.
Maybe we will cross paths at another event, your next potluck!
Hi Dale & Kelly! We are your neighbors on the other side of Squalicum Mt!
So far, there are only a few of us folks out in the rural zones near Squalicum & Stewart Mt! Thanks for taking part in the Great Unleashing on Day 2's Open Space and offering your home for a potluck! I'll be there!
