It's a long exposure. I had the camera on the tripod focused just over the fire and captured all of the sparks over maybe 10 seconds as a friend poked the fire with a stick to create even more sparks (otherwise I would have just used a longer exposure).

How did you do the fire picture?

I think when I added the photo to the spot above, something was going on with my internet and the comment box didn't load completely. I was confused why the photo adding option wasn't there.

To add photos to the group click to add a comment. When the comment box appears there should be little camera icon in the tool bar at the top of the box. Click on it. You can either upload pictures from you computer or add a link to a picture online.

Oh, and Kate,
Sorry i did not reply sooner, but no I have not seen the UK site called Dark Mountain. I will check it out sometime soon. Hope all is well and it looks as though I will be seeing you tonight at the Transition event. Hope you are having a beautiful day, oh the sun is so lovely!

Here is a poem of mine. I hope others will post soon! I would love to see your art.

Dancing the Silent Song

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Maybe if we dance,
to rhythms of raindrop tin heartbeats
within cricket chirp wisdom leaps
and climb
on chandeleers speed of lightning
timeless pendulums swaying in suspension
from rumbling thunderclouds churning
clashing dualities,
and balance
upon echoes of bones seaping into souls
of bare feet,
We may realize
the blank book is just as is,
as any other.
Only through the silence may we begin to hear.
Only through the experience of our nothingness
may we begin to experience infinity.
Be gentle.
The joyful subtlesong of our heart
is delicate and vulnerable.
Don't be afraid.
We are all in this together.
Hands touching as blending bridges
connecting experience of the worlds.
And remember,
we are all in this together.

This is a great idea, Morgan! I am inspired to scan some of my artwork in and post...have you seen the UK site called Dark Mountain?
