Hi Rob;

 Welcome back !!!  Hey If you need a Mechanical engineers input in conceptualizing or building an auto ram, Maybe Travis linds could offer some advise.

 If you at some point feel you need some input but don't know him,Let me know and I will give you two a warm introduction.

Ive seen an auro ram in India and the bricks it produced but I have never used or built one. Cool project

Has anyone used or made compressed earthen block. I am contemplating making a press to make CEB for several projects I have looming in the future. From the digging I have done here I think that the lower soil strata should be perfect for it.  I have plans and ability to build the press. Is anyone interested in helping to build a press that we can use here in our community.

In response to Chelsea's question Cob and straw bale can be used for all kinds of projects from structures like chicken coops, greenhouses, sheds, offices, hide outs, outhouse's,cabins and homes or installations like benches, kiosks, obelisks, walls, ovens and hearths. greetings natural builders!

After a long trip across the south west I am back with visions of adobe arches, masonry heating and lime plasters I am looking forward to the next building season here in Bellingham and have a few announcements.... first I would like to offer free natural building consultations to folks here in northwest washington and secondly I will be hosting a natural building slide show at the co-op community building.  The Cob Cabin at Owl farm is weathering  the winter well   and will soon be ready for a nice finish plaster this spring!

Looking forward to getting in the mud with you this year!

I was wondering from the graph if we could tell what would be the least toxic in our rainwater - that was my hope in deciding what kind of roofing to put on my next dwelling...:)

The Rainwater study was to record what ends up in the rainwater from different types of roof. I doubt if this graph has all the info you need to kn ow regarding what type of roof is best for rw. catchment, but it is interesting!
