Bike Bellingham is the 2011 local 350.org event

350.org has launched a 2011 project set for 9/24/2011, called "Moving Planet" with a website at www.moving-planet.org. In Bellingham, a project has risen up called "Bike Bellingham" which will feature family friendly bike rides from ten city schools that will converge at the Bellingham City Hall flag plaza for a climate rally/info fair from noon to 2 pm. There will also be an advanced ride from the plaza to the proposed Cherry Point Coal terminal leaving at 2 pm. If you would like more information, go to facebook.com/350bellingham. I will be posting additional information here as I learn more. However, there is a need for volunteers to help the day of the event, with pre-event postering canvassing for sponsors.

Hi Laura, not sure what a doodle is but let me know when you are planning to meet. I would like to participate.
Thanks!

no worries mates! I can't make it Thurs or Fri. What about using a doodle to find out when we can meet?
Comment by Rob Olason on August 7, 2010 at 8:16pm
I want to respond to Laura: I feel very bad about our latest meeting self-destruct, and that you were the unwitting victim. Please give this process another chance. I will try to find a better way for us to confirm meeting times and I pledge to make them a priority.

Responding to Heather K's concern about donations to last year's perennial project, losing IRS donation status due to a lack of a non-profit organizations involvement, I am pursuing a connection I have with Re-sources to remove that obstacle for this year's 10-10-10 effort.

In fact, we might be able to "leverage" our efforts. My dream is for a county-wide neighborhood by neighborhood contribution to the 10-10-10 effort.

Crazy, yes. But the times demand a little "crazy."

As Kris said at Transition Whatcom's Great Unleashing,
"We are the ones we've been waiting for."

Let's make our move.

I wanted to let you know that I showed up yesterday at Bloom--stayed for about a half hour, but having never been to your group before, wouldn't have recognized any faces besides Tristan's. I see I had a part in the confusion by not responding, apologies. Looking forward to plugging in with this group soon.

I can make it if it's still on.

I discovered I'm working during the Friday 2-5 window, and will not be able to make that meeting. Sorry....

Hey- glad to hear the Perennial Project really is perennial! Count me in!

I could make it Fri 2-5. Where?
Comment by Rob Olason on August 2, 2010 at 7:26pm
I'm in for Friday (8/6/10) between 2-5 if others wish to join that time. I'm guessing this Tuesday is a "no go." I work Saturday so Sunday afternoon is my option. However, if the majority can meet on Saturday, go for it!

If it actually works, I won't be able to KEEP from telling you. If you like, you can come check it out yourself at the Subdued Stringband Jamboree August 13th and 14th at the Deming Logshow Fairgrounds.
