This problem is alive and well in Whatcom County but is being exposed http://www.whatcomexcavator.org/ I have nothing to do with the creation of this site, have no idea who created it, but am glad they did!
Welcome to Transition Whatcom. I am one of the originating members, and wanted to personally say I'm glad you're on board. Sounds like you have some good experience, as food security is a primary concern as the future unfolds. I welcome your perspective and hope you will join in any conversations and activities...our intention is not to be politically one way or the other, but to welcome all who want to make sure our community is prepared and resilient as energy supplies become more expensive. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
