Our involvement (my wife's and mine) in transition is modest, but growing. Our second car has been gone for over a year, we're biking and walking for short trips and are living close to town to reduce our need for powered transportation. We have chosen to not contribute to the population explosion.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
We fled a large metropolitan region in search of a city small enough to be bikeable/walkable, and a community that demonstrated significant ecological awareness. We think we have found these things in Bellingham.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Hmm... I was a mechanic and welder in the past, but both are rather energy-intensive pursuits. I am currently a web programmer, but so is nearly every 16-year old these days. Perhaps I can sign on to help preserve a disappearing "classic" skill.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Columbia Neighborhood, Bellingham

I am looking for a mechanic, one who is preferably a part of 4th Corner Exchange. I met a mechanic at the Great Unleashing, but I am having a hard time finding him. If you are friends with anyone who may know how to fix a Chevy 1 tonne van head gasket, please let me know!!! We are trying to avoid credit card debt, and my partner is in the remodeling business, so we can trade for most anything.
