Since the early 70's my husband (Paul) and I have endeavered to live sustainably. We grow most of our food which includes organic gardening, raising chickens for eggs and meat, beef, and goats for our source of milk, cheese and meat. We also use both wild and cultured plants for our medicine. I can, dehydrate, ferment and freeze our food. I also make herbal salves and lotions. We believe in sharing and have always been blessed with the ability to do so.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I believe in local communities networking together to share their knowledge, resouces and skills. Our choices at the local level effect our planets environment, both socially and physically.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I will soon be offering classes in organic gardening, keeping the harvest ( canning, fermenting, cheese making, dehydrating) Raising livestock for meat milk and eggs. Creating sprouted grain artisan bread. And making your own herbal salves and lotions.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
I actually live in Skagit county, but very close to Whatcom, so feel a part of that community.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
From my naturopath.
