The Whatcom Harvest Dinner is a spectacular meal and community event celebrating the abundance of our regional food-shed and bounty of Whatcom County farms, fisheries and a special highlight on school and community gardens as well. A major focus of the dinner is Whatcom Farm-to-School efforts and programs that educate families and children about healthy locally produced foods.
Programs such as “Chefs in the classroom” where local chef volunteers will collaborate with students to make an entrée for the dinner, will help to use school garden produce and add recipes and tips to a Harvest Dinner Cookbook.
Tickets are available now at www.brownpapertickets.com or Village Books and the Co-op. For more info visit visit www.whatcomharvestdinner.com and Find us on Facebook!
The 2012 Whatcom Harvest Dinner celebrates our children’s, families’, and communities’ positive steps toward a closer connection with healthy food on our plates.
