Event Description

Come to a hands-on workshop about pruning fruit trees at an orchard where there are large trees in need of help. There are a variety of mature trees that have been left unpruned for 4 or 5 years. Here's a rare chance to problem solve and actually work on trees in the real orchard environment.
Our teacher will be Travis Dickson, who has been pruning fruit trees for 12 years and has taught many classroom style seminars about pruning theory.
Come prepared for any weather, and bring your saws, loppers and pruners.
4445 Northwest Rd. Right behind the old Buffalo Farm.
February 26th at 10am
This is a FREE workshop-- pay it forward by using your new pruning skills to benefit your neighborhood!

I am hoping to come and Lure a couple other people along with me who either Have fruit trees as well, or are helping with pruning my own little fruit cocktail orchard which has trees from 10-100 years old badly neglected over time.  Some have been "chain saw trimmed" from just the tips of branches before I moved to my farm.

I notice 'black knot fungus' is very prevelant here, so I am hoping you also discuss sanitizing of clippers between trees, and even the cuts of trees.

Christopher, way to get back on the horse. I look forward to seeing you there, buddy.

No cost-- it is a free workshop.  Pay it forward by going home and helping a neighbor prune their apple tree!

I am planning on being there! Right up my alley. Pruner... deep breathes...
I'm looking forward to learning more about fruit tree pruning.

I HIGHLY recommend this workshop. Travis mentored me in fruit tree pruning last year and he is an amazing teacher. You will not be disappointed. This is really a great opportunity so pass the word!
