Due to the Seed-Swap & Barter Exchange happening Sunday afternoon,
I won't be able to attend.
Looks like this is an important event to bring your neighbors to.
The seed-swap-barter is going until 6pm, and folks are welcome to swing by afterwards. More info under the 'Events' tab and then scroll down!

Special Announcement: Sign up now for free online Transition Clinic

We are in the process of promoting our first of many free webinars and we wanted to extend a special invitation to all of the official Transition Initiatives to join us on October 29th at 10:00AM PST (1:00PM EST) for Transition Clinic: The nitty-gritty of getting Transition rolling in your community. We will be sending a similar message to our larger newsletter audience this week but wanted to give you all advanced notice. Please have others from your local group(s) reserve a spot for this exciting program by registering today.
Program Description:
Whether you're already engaged in a Transition Initiative in your community or are considering launching one, this interactive webinar is designed to give you some practical guidance and inspiration, drawn from the experience of local initiatives across the country (and beyond). Here's where you can get your questions answered and share your concerns, and get feedback from other leaders in the Transition movement.
This is not a presentation per se, but will be created "on the fly" with your participation. Some of the issues that may come up:
• What are the most common mistakes made by Transition Initiatives?
• What are the most common challenges and stumbling blocks that Transition Initiatives face?
• What are some of the "best practices" and most successful approaches that TIs can adopt?
• What are the best ways to get started in your community?
• What's working? What's not?
• Who's ready? Who's not?
• Why take the Training for Transition?
• What about fundraising?
• Should you become a non-profit organization?
• What's your relationship with Transition U.S.?
• Why should you apply for "official" status?
• How do we make our Transition movement more diverse?
Utilizing some of the coolest interactive webinar software around, this interactive session will be hosted by Michael Brownlee, co-founder of Transition Colorado (the first officially recognized Transition Initiative in North America), a certified Transition Trainer, and a board member of Transition U.S. He'll be joined by some other experienced Transition leaders who will gladly share their insights and perspectives.

Who Should Attend?
Anyone considering starting a Transition Initiative (aka Mullers) and those already working within an Initiative who are looking for tips for making their efforts more successful. While we would love to have everyone attend we understand people's schedules are busy therefore we will be posting a link to a recording of this event on the Transition US website. It certainly won't be as interactive but of great value none the less!
