This meeting will call together the TWOG, TWIG, Theme Group leaders, WorkGroup Leaders and any other interested Transition Whatcom members to discuss the official Council meeting to be called in January.

The meeting will start with a lunch ‘pot-luck’ and ‘mingle’ hour and then a proposal from the TWOG on the goals and objectives, agenda and expectations for the Council meeting. Discussion of the proposal and any suggestions or changes will be followed by a vote to help guide the TWOG on calling the official Council meeting.

I've decided to remain home today to nurse the flu.  I'm sending you all love and light, and the hope for clear and productive discussion!

Are there some tentative dates for the TW Council in January?

One of the local community reskilling events,
the 3rd annual Community Seed Swap,
has been scheduled
for Sunday January 30th from 11:30 – 3pm.., followed with clean up.

Online Swap Info now being drafted:
http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/events/winter-community-seedswap
Each year, International Seed-Savers Day is the last day in January.

If any questions, contact Shannon or Heather by phone or email.

To my mind that's something we'll iron out at the meeting, maybe even ongoing ironing, but my opinion is that's a pretty good list. I don't see waste on there, and I could see some potential to further consolidate. The way I think of it is, what would we want to devote a whole chapter to in the EDAP, and what would the title be? That's the theme group.

Warren, thanks for posting detailed agenda!
Would someone confirm what the current list of the the 14+ “Theme Group” is? A specific list could encourage folks involved in more than one group, to access if they feel called to represent a specific Theme-Group..
Here's a rough list of the 14 group themes created during Great Unleashing event: (Would you let us know if this list is still accurate?):

* Transition Whatcom Workgroup Group
* Building & Housing
* Community Living
* Ecological Restoration
* Ecomonmics & Businesses
* Education & Reskilling
* Energy
* Food Security
* Government Liaison
* Health & Wellbeing
* Heart & Soul
* Safety & Security
* The Arts
* Transportation

Jamie--I'm working on a ning broadcast just now. Thanks for talking it up!
Susan--are you a member of the Rome Grange? I looked into the Granges as an option and have been on the lookout to find any Grange members.
See you there! Laura

Can this meeting be RE-advertised so more people know of it and can plant to attend. I've got it on my calendar but several people I spoke with about it hadn't heard about it! Thanks, Jamie

I wonder if the Rome Grange has extra space for the meeting - there will be a slew of Slow Food tuna canners in the kitchen there that day...
