How are you currently involved in the Transition?: Trying to grow more of our own food in our current home. Planning a garden for the spring and have invested in a few chickens and ducks.

In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?: Sustainability is one of the most important issues facing our culture today, and one that far too many people are blind about. We need to be prepared for the changes that past decisions will bring. Not only is a simpler life (in terms of energy use) one of the few ways to move forward, but I believe that it will lead to greater satisfaction in life as well.

Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?: I don't have a lot of skills yet, most of my knowledge is theoretical rather than practical at this point. Mostly enthusiasm and a great love of learning. I do have some experience with public speaking.

Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?: Came across the website one day trolling through links (not sure exactly how I ended up here, may have been through permies.com.) I was recently reminded about the site during the October meeting of the Environmental Conservation Book Club at Village Books.
