Amazing Opportunity to help create an Ecovillage in Whatcom County - Little to No Money Required

I am working with Richard Kauffman to create a farming community / ecovillage. This is an amazing opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this nascent ecovillage starting up in Whatcom County on the Nooksack River. We are looking for people who can move in and start investing their labor, skills, and intelligence into the land to help create a community that can be a model of self resilience and sustainability. The community is being founded on Permaculture principles and will pull together a diverse group of people with a common vision of self resiliency, varied skills and talents, and a common respect for the earth & her inhabitants. Skills and talents such as permaculture design, animal husbandry, gardening, child care, cooking/preserving, carpentry, farming, composting, alternative energies, rainwater harvesting, natural building, etc. that can help build this ecovillage are desirable. US Currency will be used as little as possible within this community. Rent can be covered entirely by working the land and helping build the ecovillage. We plan on growing most of our own organic food and processing our own fuel (biodiesel).

If you are interested, please take some time to tell us why you are interested, who you are, what you want to accomplish, and what you can bring to the creation of this community. If we like what you have to say, we will set up a time to meet you and have a deeper discussion about our vision and the ecovillage itself to see if we are a good match.

Sounds wonderful Travis! It sounds as if things are evolving beautifully.

Hi Travis;

 I know that I am interested in knowing more about your plans and vision as it evolves and what type of, or specific location that you have in mind for this. - I also know a number of others who would like to either start a community if their own ( starting this summer ) or to be a part of a cooperative community.  I am a part of a less cooperative but working toward being more organic and independent community of 6 homes within a small neighborhood at present. and I know that most of us would all like to share and learn with your group as it forms.

 We shall talk soon,

 Thanks ! Scott

Richard's farm is located on the Nooksack River in Lynden, just west of the Guide Meridian. It is an amazing location, with so much potential and beauty. The farm house is under renovation and will be done by the end of the month. People can start moving in very soon and the land is ready now to start project, planting, etc. There is a HUGE barn as well that will evolve into communal living space too. If you know people who may be interested, pass on this info and ask them to contact me. travis@greenconversion.net

THANKS!!
