Helping Whatcom and Skagit community members eat local first, meet their farmers, learn about local food sources, and experience cycling as a mode of non-vehicle transportation.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I personally identify heavily with efforts towards a more sustainable future, and the program I manage, Bike Northwest, puts on events that help people come in closer contact with their local food system -- helping them to make more sustainable food decisions.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Yes -- as a program manager and bike guide, I bring the opportunity for people to learn about engaging, educational local events centered around local agricultural systems, natural resources, and the important work of farmers in our community.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
I live in Fairhaven, and our office is located downtown Bellingham on Holly Street.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I was given this link by one of my partners', Jessica Gillis from Sustainable Connections.
