Profile Information

How are you currently involved in the Transition?
I'm not currently directly involved with the Transition, but I'd like to be! I am the co-founder and Operations Manager of The Identity Movement, a local organization whose mission is to regenerate community through skill-building workshops, mutual aid, and local volunteer opportunities. Our values greatly align with the Transition and we're excited for opportunities to collaborate and connect with Transition members in our area.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I resonate strongly with working towards a more sustainable way of living, connecting with my local community, and finding more ways that we can share skills and resources with one another. I'm interested because I see great opportunities to connect and collaborate.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I organize and plan skillshare events, action days, and study groups. I'm all about collaboration and finding ways to connect in the community.
I'm also a board member of NVC Whatcom, a growing local community of individuals studying Nonviolent Communication. I facilitate study groups and help local trainers to put on workshops.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Northwest Bellingham
Your Personal Website (if you have one)
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
I've been hearing about Transition Whatcom for some time! Several people have told myself and my teammates of The Identity Movement that we need to collaborate with the Transition, as we have very similar values. But it was in my NVC Study group that one of your members invited me into your community network.
Please note that you do not have to answer all of the above questions in order to join, and you can always come back later to edit your profile. If it's all too many questions for now, please provide a short answer below on why you'd like to join this site (or a summary of the above, if answered).
Connection and collaboration are my intention! The other local organizations and projects I'm a part of align strongly with the Transition, and I look forward to learning and sharing with others in our community.
