Hi Gary,
I went to the County Council meeting, and although there were lots of folks giving comment against the expansion of the urban growth area boundaries, it was not a huge number as I thought it might be. A better venue might be the County Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee that meets May 19th from 5:30 until 7:30 at the Bellingham Senior Center. These folks really listen and try to do all they can. Now that I am moving to the County I have a vested interest in this group, but that day may not work for me (we are moving the following weekend).
Seeing that you live on Marine Drive, you must cross that bridge regularly. Do you know Ellen who also lives on Marine Drive and rides across the bridge?
Hi Gary,
I checked the County Council's website. The meeting does start at 7 pm, and there is a 20 minute comment period on any subject you want to talk about. You do not need to give the council any materials, but of course, the more research one can provide them with the better. I am willing to meet you there, if you are going. Please call me at 312-5700 x 204 during the day, and I'll talk with you about it.
