We just found this and want more information and would like to meet people in the community.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
Knowing that something might happen to our economy, our family wants to know more about building a strong community, with "like minded" people who want to rebuild/ and have safe food /water and safety.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
Kent and I are in our mid 50's, married over 30 yrs, both prior military (Kent-20+ yrs and Debbie-8 yrs), lived all over the U.S, bring liberal and progressive ideas. We have 2 adult sons ages 21 and 29 who live with us. We are avid dog lovers and own 2. Love this part of the country and the people too. I am a homemaker-love to cook and garden and Kent works as the assistant manager at the Bellingham Walmart.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
Bellingham Wa (Puget)
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
Did a Google search on Intentional Communities in Whatcom County and found you.

Hi Deborah- I am greatly encouraged that you will be coming to the event! Would you have any time to help me get the word out to more people? That room adjacent to the Food Coop holds 40 people. It would be a shame not to fill it! I am coming all the way from Point Roberts. I want to come down to post a flyer in the Food Coop on the wall by the registers, haven't yet, could use help posting a flyer in more places and just to tell more people! Most people don't even look up! I communicated with the people organizing the "Skill Share Faire" to see if I could go to that to have a booth to discuss this, but they weren't the least bit intrerested, and that just seems strange to me. I think they are in denial about what is going on! I think a lot of people just don't even want to THINK about something like this! Whats your take on it? If you can help me alert more people and want to discuss this at all, please call me at 1-800-333-2553 H&W or email me at jham@iahf.com Thanks! John in Point Roberts PS What branch of the service were you and your husband in? I was never in the service, but grew up in a Navy family. My dad was a SEAL.
