I am moving to Bellingham this spring with my girlfriend so I guess I am not involved just yet.
In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
I have a desire to not only live more sustainably, but to aid in the desired sustainability of my community. I have been looking for the right place that will allow me to live, identify with much of the community and use the skills I have acquired to connect more deeply with a community in an open and fair-minded way.
Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
I have a full-time job in finance, yet the flexibility to do other things. In addition, I recently finished a Masters in Environmental Resource Engineering that focused on rural finance in Mexico for clean energy. I would enjoy creating a new model that allows a community to share financial resources without the goal of accumulation.
In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
I left Humboldt County earlier this year and live in Portland and Seattle while my girlfriend and I look for a place to live.
Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
My girlfriend found it. She's smarter than me!
