I have a friend that is addicted to planting a huge variety of trees, I'd love a clone for a Christmas gift for him.
Mmmm, I must have been hungry when I first read your post David Camp, thinking you were going to bake apricot clones and share them with your York neighbors. :-)
Thanks Ken for your recent response that caught my gardeners eyes!
David I would love to have 2 or 3 of your old-timey apricot tree clones!
Will you be rooting them or grafting onto rootstock? I have a couple young successful apple & pear grafts from this spring's grafting workshop to grow up, and hope to attend next springs workshop & improve my skills!
The apricot we planted years ago only lived one year. I don't recall if it was deer or disease that brought it down.
If you post your offer under the TW Organic Gardeners-Permaculturist group at- http://transitionwhatcom.ning.com/group/organic - then you might catch some more hungry edible-forest-gardeners eyes!
Heather - I was planning on just rooting the cuttings directly.
