Event Description

Thursday, June 25: 7 PM-9 PM at the downtown Community Co-op’s Healthy Connections Building (on the south side of the parking lot on Forest Street).

We believe that the dual crises of global climate change and peak oil are going to profoundly impact our lives and our communities. Climate change requires that we choose to quickly and dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Peak oil, which will result in much more expensive and thus reduced energy supply, will soon force us to use much less energy.

Transition Whatcom will work with our neighbors in all Whatcom County communities to catalyze local efforts to build greater local-self reliance in terms of food, transportation, winter heating, and medical care — and to build a positive life beyond oil. Come to this session to learn more about peak oil, global climate change, and Transition Whatcom.

I am not available most Thursday evenings. Is it possible to vary the day of the week?
