SB Roving Garden Party - Glenhaven - 6pm

Join Sustainable Bellingham's 3rd annual Roving Garden Party series, where volunteers help their neighbors create an edible garden. These fun events consist of approximately 90 minutes of gardening, followed by a shared meal. Everyone is welcome!

This Thursday we'll be working at Peter James’ Home in Glenhaven. Peter has been a big help at the garden parties so far this year. Let's give him a hand and a fun time at his place is usually a pretty safe bet.

Please RSVP for a better chance at saving a seat in the carpool. Rides are not guaranteed. (RSVP using TW Ning, Facebook, or email volunteer@sustainablebellingham.org.) 

* Where: Peter James’s Home near Alger at 755 Top Place, Glenhaven, 98284 – 25 minutes from Bellingham.  Map: http://bit.ly/ebnB8H . It’s a good idea to PRINT A MAP or follow the caravan from the public market. Carpool will meet at Public Market (corner of Cornwall and York) at 5:30pm (meet in far end of parking lot by bank).

* When: Thursday, April 7th

5:30pm - carpool from Public Market

6:00pm - work detail in garden

7:30pm - dinner and Music Jam! 

* Tasks: Peter has built the walls of the new terraced garden, now we just need to dig out the old dirt to make way for the new soil.  We will also be clearing out the old garden, planting some little shrubs and digging a drainage ditch.

* What to Bring: shovel, drain spade or trench shovel if you can, and a bottle of wine would never go to waste.

* Food: Meat & vegetarian dishes. Beer and drinks provided.

If you're interested in hosting a Roving Garden Party at your home or community garden, contact Mary at 756-6643, or email at joloq@sbcglobal.net. We ask that you be prepared to provide a meal for ~20, and that you give back by volunteering at another Roving Garden Party.
