Event Description

SB Roving Harvest Party - 10/1/13 - RE Patch - 6:00pm

Join Sustainable Bellingham's new series of Roving HARVEST Parties - the fall counterpart to our spring garden parties, where volunteers help their
neighbors harvest their edible garden, and prepare their gardens for winter. These fun events consist of approximately 90 minutes of gardening, followed by
a shared meal. Everyone is welcome!

To get on the mailing list to hear about future SB Roving Harvest Parties and other local events, please email rgp@sustainablebellingham.org.

** Where: RE Patch Community Garden, behind The RE Store warehouse, on the corner of Kulshan St. & Monroe St. 2309 Meridian St. MAP: http://goo.gl/maps/9nBff.

** When: Tuesday, October 1st, 5:00-8:00pm.

** Requested Items to Bring: Bring gloves, pitchforks, snips, and beverages of your choice.

** Tasks: We will be rebuilding a compost system, pruning, weeding, and mulching. Volunteers for meal prep are most welcome!

** Food: We will provide a local farm-fresh meal and red wine. Please let me know if you have dietary restrictions & we'll do our best to accommodate.

** Please RSVP to Hannah at hannahc[at]re-sources[dot]org so she has a rough idea how much food to prepare.

** Host: RE Sources! After many years at the forefront of Bellingham’s sustainability and conservation movements, Re Sources is now also taking a big step toward greening our city spaces. With the help of Homestead Habitats and BUGS, RE Sources has taken the unused grassy areas behind The RE Store and is converting it into a food producing, educational pocket park! The lovely new RE Patch Community Garden houses eleven raised annual veggie beds, bordering edible perennial beds, and a mushroom-inoculated forest garden featuring primarily useful native plants (though every plant is useful, really).

** Questions: email Jean at artiseverywhere [at] yahoo [dot] com, or rgp@sustainablebellingham.org.
