Do it yourself-ers will delight in a weekend of exploring innovative,
eco-friendly homes during Sustainable Connections’ 12th annual Imagine This! Home & Landscape Tour
on June 21-22, 2014.
The tour showcases the best in natural, eco-friendly homes and landscapes. Participants can visit local homes utilizing the latest innovations in green design, reclaimed materials, renewable/solar energy, passive solar construction, rainwater harvesting, permaculture and low maintenance landscapes.
Don't miss stop #2, Barking Fig Urban Farm! The home of Joy Patterson & Paul Kuepfer focuses on landscape and food production right in the middle of the Birchwood neighborhood. They aim to grow as much food as possible with the condition that their yard still be aesthetically pleasing. They've partnered with Transition Whatcom, ReStore and WWU students to help our community become resilient in growing local food. While you're there, stop by the TW table and say hello!
