Event Description

This workshop will be led by Irene Hinkle who has been weaving baskets for over 20 years, and hosted by Chris Wolf in the cedar forest where she lives.  Using cedar is an important piece of re-skilling for residents of the Pacific NorthWest.
Workshop participants will learn to how to harvest cedar bark sustainably so that the tree remains viable and alive.  Participants will harvest their own share of cedar bark and will separate the layers for use, learning how to prepare bark for basket weaving and for storage.  Each person will then weave their own basket from the materials they harvested and hopefully have time to finish it before leaving the workshop.
$20 donation includes instruction and materials; work trade available if you ask ahead of time.  We can only fit 10 people in this workshop, so R.S.V.P. your NAME and PHONE NUMBER to Chris at chrisandbella (at) yahoo (dot) com.

This workshop is now full with 10 participants.  Exciting!  If you are interested, you can email me about getting on the waiting list.  We will contact you if someone drops out of the workshop, and also if we teach another workshop soon.  Thank you everyone!
