Event Description

The Whatcom Action Coalition (WAC) invites the active Bellingham community to the Ground Floor (1105 N State St - Next to the Masonic Hall) on Wednesday August 10 at 6:00 pm for a benefit dinner. The dinner is part of an ongoing fundraising campaign to raise money to send six emerging activists to participate in the Backbone Campaign's Localize This! Non-violent Action Camp. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to support passionate but poorly-funded organizers in the Bellingham community; your support is truly an investment in the future of our community, and in the effort to prevent the Gateway Pacific Coal Terminal!

  • The dinner is a sliding-scale suggested donation of $10-$25.
  • A presentation from WAC will provide more information about it's role in preventing the Gateway Pacific Terminal, and information about the action camp.
  • Food is provided courtesy of Billy Tate and Nicole Brown of Moondance Farm and Safeguard the South Fork.
  • Event hosted by the Ground Floor Healing Community and sponsored by Namaste Wellness Cafe.
  • Live music from the Naked Hearts and Scott Jensen throughout the event!

Please RSVP on this event page if you plan to attend, so that we know how much food to prepare!

If you are unable to attend in person and would like to support us online, or if you would like more information about WAC, visit:8680&i=shlk

Hope to see you on Wednesday!

Looking forward to a local home-grown meal and supporting this emerging group of community organizers.
