This class will cover bee biology and lifecycle. Pat will show a year of beekeeping in a slide show. Then he'll demonstrate beekeeping equipment with possible live observation of a hive. He will discuss beekeeping startup costs and resources. He will also cover the Beekeeping Course for the Master Beekeeper's Program, for those who want to continue their beekeeping education. This class is brought to you by Chuckanut Transition, a group of neighbors in the Samish Watershed that works towards creating resilient community networks. Instructor: Pat Ray grew up in a beekeeping family in Western Minnesota and has been a beekeeper ever since. He spent 4 years teaching beekeeping in Guatemala for the Peace Corps. He was a co-owner of Belleville Honey Co., and now works for Bruce Bowen's Bees. He sells his honey at Bow Little Market.
