Event Description

General Election ballots are being mailed Wednesday, October 17, and the Voters’ Pamphlet should arrive within a few days of receiving your ballot. You will be receiving one Voters’ Pamphlet that combines the Whatcom County Local Voters’ Pamphlet with the State, Auditor Debbie Adelstein said.

If you decide to return your ballot by mail, the State has agreed to pay the postage in an effort to increase voter participation. Remember that your ballot envelope still needs a postmark no later than Election Day, November 6, 2018, to be counted. The USPS recommends mailing your ballot one week before Election Day.

Ballots can also be returned in an official ballot drop box up until 8:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6. The 18 drop box locations are printed on the insert that will be enclosed with the ballot and are also printed in the Voters’ Pamphlet.

If a voter doesn’t receive their ballot by October 26, they should call the Election Division of the Auditor’s Office at (360) 778-5102.

Voters’ Pamphlet:  For a listing of candidates and ballot measures refer to the Whatcom County Auditor’s website at www.whatcomcounty.us/auditor to view the online voters’ guide.  Voters’ pamphlets will be mailed to household addresses and available at the Auditor’s Office beginning October 17th.
