Information

Music and Dancing and Stories, Oh My!

Within this group are several 'baby groups' - technically called 'disussions'. The idea here is to hook people up that share interests and passions ...we are especially wanting to hook people up that live in the same community.

Thanks for the term 'modern troubadour', Patricia!  Anyone out there feel like a modern troubadour?

Patricia is going to be teaching some Whatcom Folk School classes this fall - keep an eye out!

Hi Laura
This would be a great place to add Transition Tales! How about starting a 'Discussion' with the title of the Tale? Perhaps we could all use similar lingo in the title so we know that it is a Transition Tale or an Inspirational Story or a Fable or....whatever. So maybe it would be titled: 'Transition Tale: Lessons from Grandma's Farm'. What do you think?

Would this be the place to start Transition Whatcom's equivalent to 'Transition Tales'? Or, do you have a suggestion where a better place to put the tales might be?

I'm ready! One this I love about this project is the element of dreaming and visioning at the community scale. I really started to turn on at the Unleashing when I saw that wall 'What do you want your community to look like in the near future?"

Hello dear sound vibrationers,
A few things..

Perhaps someone in this group could initiate a meeting to work on incorporating and creating song in with the transition events. I think it would be awesome to have a song that is inclusive of everyone. UNIVERSAL. Any interest in this?

on another note,
Some others and I are working on creating a community art show in January. Is there any interest to create some kind of a song/performance here? Perhaps some communal collaboration? I would love for this to be,

And for the third note in harmony,
Would any one be interested in gathering for a song circle?.. where we can teach eachother songs and sing them together?

Yes, I learned Downtown Sounds was going on after we scheduled this one. Oh, well, ...I guess the town is big enough for both events :-)
And I will likely see you at your event before the next PUFPD - but I haven't checked the calendar...they are scheduled near one another in September. Thanks for letting me know, Meredith - that was nice.

Hi, Cindi
Thanks! I won't be able to attend this Wed. - I'll be boogeying at the Downtown Sounds concert on Bay St. from 5 - 9. The Senate, a Seattle band who played at Blvd. Park earlier this summer, is the featured band. I hope to come to your next one!
Blessings,
Meredith

what day/date is the Owl Farm event? I love drumming circles and have a large e-mail list of others who love them and have participated before as well.
