Event Description

Interested in adding mushroom growing to your gardening skills? We will cover the benefits of adding mycelium to landscape and edible gardens, and will show you how in a hands on workshop to be held at River Haven Farm in Lynden. This will also be an opportunity to see the newly forming River Haven farm community, and to enjoy a potluck dinner and fire with others on a warm early summer evening.

Please bring some food to share - we will provide tools, mycelium, and information about which mushrooms do best in our climate, how to get more of them into your landscape, and where to find and how to propagate mycelium. This is a free workshop led by Chris Wolf and Juliet Thompson.

Comment by Chris Wolf on June 17, 2011 at 5:33pm: The workshop will take place at RiverHaven, 741 River Rd. in Lynden. From Bellingham, take Guide Meridian north, past Pole Rd and Wiser Lake. Go over the bridge (Nooksack River) and turn immediately left in the roundabout-- this is River Rd. Follow the road to the end, 741 is the address, and it is on the left. You will see a house and a huge barn behind it. I encourage carpooling-- maybe from Meridian Haggen's at 5:10 PM? Post here if you intend to meet for carpooling.
