- How are you currently involved in the Transition?

I've always cared about the environment. I was raised that way, but my own experiences have definitely solidified the importance of nature in my life and mores. Over the last couple years I have been learning about peak oil and up-to-date climate change info, both of which clearly demand a response.
As a result of my learning independently and at WWU (Recreation and Fairhaven), I have begun to develop programs to help humanity make the big Transition. I recognize this as my life's work.
- In what ways do you identify with the Transition movement? Why are you interested?
- I agree with Heinberg. The Transition Movement has the best chance of success of anything out there to help us prepare and plan for the future.
- Do you have particular interests, skills, talents or resources you would like to bring to Transition Whatcom?
- I am especially interested in all skills required for low-energy life. I can do a fair amount with modern tools, but I want to learn more traditional methods. When do we start cob building?
Also interested in the psychological aspects of Transition. As an Outdoor Recreation student, I have insights into how wilderness experiences can prepare us physically and psychologically, including treatment for "addiction to oil".
- In what neighborhood or part of the county do you reside?
- Where I lay my head is home
- Where did you hear about Transition Whatcom and how did you find our community network website?
- A "entering behaviors" survey could be designed to determine how much people know when they get here, with later surveys to determine the effectiveness of our education programs. It may also be valuable to know how people learn about this website/initiative.
